Africa Energy Intel (“AEI”, “we”) provides source-linked African energy intelligence, including public previews, project and transaction records, research tools, comparables, exports, APIs and organisation workspaces. By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, accepting an institutional order or using AEI, you agree to these terms.

Plans and access

AEI currently has a Public preview and four commercial tiers: Individual, Professional, Team and Institutional. Individual is offered at $2/week, $6/month or $60/year; Professional at $12/month or $120/year; Team at $29/month or $290/year; and the standard Institutional package is listed at $99/month or $990/year. Individual, Professional and Team are self-serve card subscriptions. Institutional access is normally supplied by contract or invoice and may have separately agreed scope, seats, limits or pricing. The pricing page is the current source for public package descriptions and checkout options.

Feature access follows the tier shown on the pricing page. Public preview content is deliberately limited. Individual opens the working project and deal layer and personal workflows; Professional adds deeper analytics, exports and professional integration tools; Team adds shared organisation features; Institutional adds higher-capacity organisation controls and support. Bespoke services, commissioned research and custom integrations are separate unless a written order says they are included.

Research quality and reliance

AEI compiles information from public sources, structured research and analyst review. Records may be marked Researching, Verified or otherwise qualified according to the evidence available. We do not promise that every field is complete, current or error-free. AEI is an intelligence and research product, not investment, legal, tax or financial advice. Material decisions should be checked against the cited source and any other evidence appropriate to the decision.

Accounts and billing

Self-serve card payments are processed by Paystack. Billing frequency is the option selected at checkout. AEI stores subscription status and provider references needed to operate access, but does not store your card number. Account sign-in uses a server-issued session; legacy subscriber access credentials may remain supported for existing customers and API compatibility. Keep any API or access credential private.

You can request cancellation of self-serve renewal from your account. AEI treats provider-confirmed billing state as authoritative and does not mark an external cancellation successful when the provider has not confirmed it. Payments already made are governed by the refund policy. Access may be suspended for non-payment, abuse, credential sharing or other material breach of these terms.

Acceptable use and licences

Your subscription permits use of the features and exports included in your tier for your own work or, for organisation plans, authorised internal users. Unless a separate written licence permits it, do not resell, republish or redistribute the underlying AEI database wholesale, scrape or automate access to reconstruct the paid dataset, bypass access controls, share credentials outside authorised users, or use the service in a way that materially degrades it for others. API, MCP, Agent, export and organisation limits may vary by tier or contract.

Organisation workspaces and supplied information

Where an authorised customer supplies private information to a Team or Institutional workspace, or for separately commissioned work, AEI uses that information to provide the requested service. It is not treated as part of the public AEI database unless publication is separately authorised. Customers are responsible for ensuring they are permitted to upload or share the material they provide.

Availability, corrections and liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, AEI is not liable for decisions made solely from AEI data or for losses arising from outages, errors or omissions in database, API, research or workspace outputs. This wording does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. If a record appears wrong, use the correction/reporting tools or contact us so it can be reviewed.

Changes and institutional terms

We may update these terms and public pricing as the product changes. Changes to public pricing apply to new purchases unless a customer's existing billing arrangement or written agreement provides otherwise. A signed institutional order, data licence or other written agreement may add to or override these general terms for that engagement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Subject to any different dispute provision in a signed institutional agreement, disputes arising from these general terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
