POWER POOLS
African power pools
5 regional pools · cross-border trade, shared planning, member marketsPower pools coordinate cross-border electricity trade and regional planning. A pool's depth matters to lenders and offtakers: interconnection can firm supply, open export revenue and spread utility risk. Each pool below links to its member markets and the projects AEI tracks there.

AEI-tracked projects, not total installed capacity. Earlier-stage MW includes concepts and tenders that may never be built. MW excludes programmes, portfolios and export links. Projects count under their first listed country. Countries in two pools (for example DR Congo in SAPP and CAPP) appear in both, so totals do not add across pools.
