People and emissions
estimate when operating · not people connectedAbout 283 to 322 GWh a year at a 33% capacity factor (country override).
Enough electricity for about 77,000 to 88,000 people at South Africa's average use of 3,658 kWh a person (2025).
About 225,000 tonnes of CO2 a year avoided if it displaces average grid generation (699 g/kWh, 2025).
Grid power also serves business and industry, so the people figure is a comparison, not a count of connections. Sources: AEI capacity-factor benchmarks, Ember electricity data (CC-BY-4.0), World Bank population.
What Individual access adds to this project
Source-linked working record · $15/monthThe public record identifies Sasol Secunda Wind Project. Individual access gives you the research needed to assess its commercial position, subject to what has actually been disclosed.
- Counterparties and contracts. Recorded sponsors, offtaker and PPA terms, with source references and verification status where available.
- Financing and procurement. Disclosed CAPEX, debt, lenders, procurement packages, payment security and milestones; missing terms remain clearly marked.
- What to investigate next. Evidence gaps, dated project activity and linked comparable records to support a diligence decision.
Paid access does not guarantee every field is published or independently verified, and it does not mean a procurement package is open.
